FAQs

Host families
We know all our host families personally—many have been working with us from the beginning. Before accepting a new family, we visit their home and meet them. We always look for families with children of their own.
Yes, no problem at all! For younger children (12-14 years old) it can even be beneficial. That said, we recommend single accommodation to maximize language immersion. But you know your children best—ultimately, what matters is that it's a positive experience that fosters their independence and love of travel.
Yes! Two weeks beforehand we'll arrange a video call between you and the host family. Start practicing your English!
Yes! The host family is responsible for doing the laundry.

- – Travel permit from the National Police — Mandatory for those under 18. You can apply here: sede.policia.gob.es The process must be completed in person, although the forms can be filled out online beforehand. And although it is not mandatory, we recommend also processing the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) before your trip. You can request it here: https://prestaciones.seg-social.es/servicio/tarjeta-sanitaria-europea-certificado-provisional-sustitutorio.html
For summer staysBesides your usual clothes, don't forget:

– 1 or 2 sweatshirts or sweaters for the evenings and nights
– 2 or 3 pairs of jeans or trousers
Remember that in summer temperatures range between 15°C and 20°C, so light outerwear is just as important as your swimsuit.

When you confirm your booking, we'll send you a form where you can let us know about any dietary restrictions, allergies, or other dietary requirements. Generally, we can accommodate these. Very strict diets that require separate preparation may incur a small increase in the hosting price. For Halal diets, we offer vegetarian options and fish, as we cannot guarantee the origin of the meat.
Of course! New technologies make it very easy 😄
Our recommendation: try not to solve small, everyday problems from Spain. Needing an extra towel or not liking something about their sandwich are perfect opportunities for them to learn to communicate with their host family—or with our local coordinator. These small challenges are part of the learning process.
Please keep in mind that the first 2-4 days are for adjusting: new family, new food, new schedules. Missing home is completely normal at first. And if you have any concerns, you can always talk to us.
Rest assured. In addition to the travel insurance included in the program, it's important that your child has their European Health Insurance Card (if you don't already have one, we've included a link in the document requirements section). If medical attention is needed, your child will be accompanied by your host family or our local coordinator. They will not be alone at any time.
All participants in the program have a MAPFRE travel insurance Included in the price. It's a specific policy for study abroad stays that covers, among other things:
Medical assistance — Medical expenses for illness or accident up to €30,000, including emergency dental expenses up to €500. It also covers Covid-19.
Repatriation — medical transfer or repatriation in case of illness, accident or serious situation.
Early return — if there is a death or hospitalization of a family member at home, or a serious accident at home.
Delays and cancellations — compensation for flight delays of more than 6 hours, overbooking or missed connections.
Luggage — locating and sending luggage in case of loss.
Civil liability — Coverage up to €100,000 in case of causing damage to third parties.
Missed classes — compensation of up to €500 if you are unable to attend camp or classes due to illness or accident.
Yes! We usually organize an in-person meeting with families from the same area before the trip, so that the students can get to know each other before arriving in Ireland.
Yes! Both the water sports camps and the surf camp provide all the necessary equipment.
Yes! At the end of the season, the sailing school sends a link to download the certificate with the course hours.
Dynamic classes: role-playing, activities, games… The goal is for them to spend as little time as possible sitting down. There will be moments for reading and writing, but these will be few and far between. The teacher adapts the classes to the group, and there will even be days when they go out together to put into practice what they have learned in class.
No, English classes are exclusive to the surf camp. The multisport and water sports camps are full-day programs (9am-3pm or 10am-4pm), and after such an active day, adding two hours of classes wouldn't make much sense. Tiredness is also part of the experience! 😄
Students aged 13 and over will use public transport to get to camp in Dunmore East or to surf lessons in Tramore. The host family will accompany them on the first day to show them where to catch and get off the bus. The cost of transport is included in the total price.
Ireland
The weather in Ireland is unpredictable — it's said that you can experience four seasons in a single day, and it's true! In summer, temperatures usually range between 15°C and 20°C, although on the hottest days they can reach 30°C.
An important detail: the Irish sun is "different." When it's sunny, it's very easy to get sunburned—even those with supposedly "used" skin. Don't forget your sunscreen! ☀️🧴
